Every so often, I like to peruse the different features that are available to me on WordPress. I decided to do this yesterday because I realized I wasn’t receiving emails for postings by many of the bloggers I follow.
Inbox wasn’t as full as I thought it should be.
At first, I thought these bloggers were not posting. That was strange, because I really liked their postings, and when I decided to follow them originally, I expected they would be posting quite a bit.
I decided to take a look at “Blogs I Follow.” Well, of course! That’s why I wasn’t getting emails about their postings. I had to edit those bloggers on my list, and manually allow their postings to appear in my email inbox! Duh!
Today, when I peeked into my inbox, I found many more emails from those “missing” bloggers.
I’ve been posting here on WordPress now for a little over a month, and it seems much longer than that. OH OH. Time out. Rusty is here on my desk and is curling up and speaking to me. OMG. I’m melting!
You could just melt!
It’s not easy to ignore him. Anyone with a lovable cat (yes, they can be SOOOO affectionate!), will know exactly what I’m talking about.
To get back to my blog….. as I was saying…… Blogging here on WordPress is quite an experience for anyone, and I am not excepted here. It’s been a learning experience, for sure.
I decided to look around to see what is available, without trying to search out something in particular, like when I wanted to change my background, and change my blog address.
I found something new today: an archive of comments!; and my blog statistics! I answered some comments on the archive; others, I was not able to, because they were low on my screen and, when I wanted to hit a “reply” button, it was inaccessible. There wasn’t any scroll I could use. If anyone can give me some direction regarding these, I’d be forever in your debt (not really, but you get my drift!)
The last few days have not been the best. Neighbors sick, neighbors dying! I’m not kidding. I don’t have many days when I find it difficult to smile; these last few have been that. Who else can I talk to, but my friendly neighbors on WordPress? Yes, this is Sunshinebright speaking.
A different type of blog, veering off a little bit from my usual. I’m thoughtful – these types of flashes of news does that, especially at this time in my life.
So, I decided to turn to my computer and see what’s up – chose not to read or watch TV. Finished one book; ready to start another – not in the mood to watch weddings on TLC or scientific studies of monster snakes and fish on NatGeoWild.
Found The Chicago Files’ “This Is Hockey Night In…..America.” Cher’s description of the difference in the announcers’ methods of giving “play by play” commentating is funny – truly. So enjoyable – and, I’m not even a hockey fan!! Here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/mfjk74l
Couldn’t help laughing, Cher. Thanks so much for your great sense of humor!! Sunshinebright is back!
This is my pleasurable time of day. I got some color in my blog, finally.
WordPress wasn’t going to help me get back the original design of the theme, because I haven’t received any support email.
I fooled around with it (I’m good at that; however, I didn’t get positive results with my original “fooling around” did I?).
I decided to go to Bing, where I was able to access clip art, images, photos, etc. of all kinds. The search help is great; the choices are seemingly infinite, and I found it hard to make a decision as to what would look presentable, and with what I would be pleased.
Among the other choices were:
but I figured the one I chose would be easier on the eyes.
I feel good about this evening’s work. Hope you all do, too. Please let me know what you think.
Maybe this pup is an exaggeration of my morning experience when I went out to get the newspaper from the driveway. But, for South Florida, it was chilly – in the high 50’s. I guess I’m trying to be sympathetic about the parts of the US that are reeling from the terrible cold and storms.
Watching the weather reports, and listening to all the flight delays, makes me happy about the fact of where I live.
Still didn’t get any email from WordPress re the disappearance of my colorful background for my theme; however, hopefully, this problem will be solved – one way or another. I might have to completely change my theme, if there is no fix. I found out the theme, Malata, is no longer supported. It’s about 2 years old. Well, things could be worse, right?
Happiness is found in many forms, of course – each to his/her own. One of my happy moments is when I treat myself to SHRIMP. Had some today for lunch. Love those curvy, ridged, headless, tail-on pieces of white flesh. Don’t know why.
It’s almost like an addiction – sort of like chocolate.
Happy moments pop up when least we expect them. Today, I’ve enjoyed several. Got an unexpected phone call from a long-time friend. It was good to hear her voice and we did some needed catching up. Left me with warm feelings. Daughter’s phone call cheered me up. One of my favorite sounds in this world is hearing her voice.
You know, happy doesn’t have to be exciting. Sometimes it comes from little seemingly unimportant things. Sometimes we don’t realize they happened until we think back and remember what happened in the day. Today was a happy day for me. I hope it was for you all.

I was channel surfing this afternoon and came upon the OWN channel. Oprah was just finishing up an interview with a spiritual woman. The last piece of advice she gave Oprah was: “Keep a journal and write down what made you happy today.”
I like to write, so I figured “I could do that.” It’s a few days early to implement a New Year’s resolution, but, so what? A good idea is good whenever, right?
I got right onto WordPress, started my blog and here I am.
The day isn’t over yet, but, there is something that made me happy today up to this point: I downloaded a radio program onto my computer. The sound quality is great and the “radio” is so easy to use. It even has stereo!
I can now listen to my faves all day long!
Have a great day!!
